jane austen book covers
The designs for these book covers were inspired by the Romantic time period in which Austen lived and wrote. This movement emphasized emotion, and regarded the beauty of nature as a sublime experience.
In keeping with these concepts, I created watercolor styled digital botanical works, with Austen’s writing wrapping around the various elements. Furthermore, instead of a summary on the back of each book cover, I featured an emotional or important moment for one of the main female protagonists.
Programs used included Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.

chanel maverick
This work came from a campaign that I conceived to advertise a Chanel drone delivery service for preferred customers. Available only in specific cities worldwide (such as Paris, Tokyo, NYC), this drone initiative would allow frequent buyers to try on the latest Chanel items from the comfort of their own home (or balcony).
A “maverick” is defined as an unorthodox or independent-minded person. As Coco Chanel herself was a maverick, the initiative was not only named after her, but the aesthetic and advertising harkened back to Chanel’s classic roots and original No. 5 ads.
Programs used were Photoshop and Illustrator.

Corporate photography
Photoshoot at The Roof on Ponce City Market — Atlanta, GA
For this exercise in corporate photography, I obtained a press pass and spent about 6 hours taking photos while the sun set. Then, I chose my best shots and edited them in Photoshop for lighting and color correction.

guo pei perfume package design
Fashion designer Guo Pei was the first Chinese designer to be accepted in Paris as an official Haute Couture designer. Her designs draw on childhood memories and traditional fairytales for inspiration. Tasked with creating a unique perfume concept and product packaging for it, my work was influenced by the Chinese version of the Cinderella Story. In this story, Cinderella is aided by a magical golden Koi Fish.
For this project, I worked with Taylor Noland and Grace Bae. I conceptualized the Cinderella inspiration, as well as the format for our "box". I wanted to mimic a koi pond with a rounder shape than the traditional square. Taylor was lead illustrator, while Grace and I added in extra elements once she established the illustration style. Grace also designed our Koi Fish logo, featured on the top of the box. I set up the files and illustrations on Adobe Illustrator so that we could use a laser printer to etch our design into gold core white plexiglass. Once our multi-layered octagonal design was cut and etched, we carefully assembled it using a special plexiglass adhesive. With the exterior finished, we sought to create an aquatic feeling environment for the interior of the perfume box.
