Bobbi Brown: a steamy cosmetics campaign

I was tasked with creating a campaign for cosmetics company, Bobbi Brown.
Bobbi Brown is all about natural confidence. My goal was to convey that bold sense of pride with stark color contrasts. Furthermore, I wanted to instill Bobbi's playful personality, which comes across when she is interviewed. Finally, just as raw beauty will stop you in your tracks, my ads should feel eye-catching.
Two major selling points of high-end cosmetics are that they are long-wear and waterproof. To show these qualities, I devised a "shower" photoshoot, depicting a man and woman enjoying each other's company in an environment that would normally ruin someone's makeup.

As I shot the campaign photos, as well as created the final ads, I had a lot of control over the process. I took the photos in a studio with black out curtains, and used a single light source. I then placed the models behind suspended plexiglass. I sprayed the plexiglass with oil cooking spray to give an illusion of condensation on glass. I also instructed the models to angle a gold Bobbi Brown makeup palette so that it caught the light and glimmered.
